Sunday Morning Groups
We believe that connecting in a small group is the best way to build lasting relationships that help equip you to grow in your journey with Christ. We encourage everyone in the church to be involved with a Sunday Morning Group to study God’s word, serve one another, and change the world together.
Sunday Morning Groups meet each week at 8:45 am. We have a lot of different groups based on your stage of life from young singles to married senior adults. Take time to look at our Sunday Morning Groups on our Groups page, then come study the Word with one and build relationships that will impact your life.
Throughout the week we have a variety of groups that meet for Bible study. These groups, which primarily meet on Sunday and Wednesday nights, are a collection of people from different life stages. There are no studies starting regularly throughout the year. These groups range from men’s and women’s studies to parenting and financial studies. You can find an updated list of what studies are currently taking place on our Groups page.

In our world today, men are too often forced into an ordinary life. A life that robs you of seeking your purpose and your passion. That is not the life we are design for! We must MAN UP! if we are to take our life from the ordinary to EXTRAordinary.
Join us on Saturday, January 28th as Danny Singleton, of MENMATTER Ministires, and Pastor Scott McKinney challenge us to evalute how we view our Passion and Purpose. And challenge us to MAN UP! to live the lives we are called to.
Breakfast will be serves from 7:30a-8:15a in the Fellowship Hall of Cookeville FBC and the conference will begin promptly at 8:30a in the main auditiorim.
We are so excited to be hosting If: Cookeville here at First Baptist Church! We have 500 spots available for any and all women in Cookeville who would like to come and join us in a Friday night and Saturday to gather and learn more about God and His faithfulness to the early church and His faithfulness to us.
We will have live worship sessions, the simulcast messages, and lunch on Saturday will be catered as we enjoy a meal together! Childcare is available on Friday night and Saturday morning until 12:30pm.
The IF:Gathering begins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, February 3 and continues Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. The cost is $15.
At IF:Gathering 2017, we’ll look at one of the most influential generations that have ever lived — the early church. The way God moved through them was simple and pure. We believe they are the model we need right now. Our dream is that we would experience the power of God as He does big things through simple acts of faith. That we live unified, surrendered to God, not just in our minds and in our theology, but also in our daily lives. Our hope is that we would participate with the Spirit of God and see Him go forth in our generation in a most powerful way.
In addition to Bible study many fellowship and service opportunities are available. Monthly luncheons are held the second Sunday; each Friday at 10:00 am Fun Friday meets for food, prayer, devotional thought, and games. The Happy Travelers take trips monthly including day trips, overnight trips, and week long trips. See a list of our January-June trips and our July-December trips . Visitation to homebound and healthcare facilities is ongoing. For more information you can download our January Senior Happynings Newsletter.
