Children

The purpose of Cookeville Kids is to see children desire God, be discipled, and grow to dedicate themselves to service in God’s kingdom. We do this by partnering with and equipping families to share Jesus with their children at home (Deut. 6:6-9). We love seeing children coming to know Jesus and the love that God has for them.

Sunday Mornings

Part of our discipleship happens on Sunday mornings during the 8:45 hour as we have Sunday School classes for Kindergarten-6th grade. These classes are taught by caring and loving adults who help children learn and explore the Bible. You will find the kindergarten class on the second floor and 1st-6th grade rooms on the third floor.

Cookeville Kids Worship, a service designed specifically for 1st-6th graders, meets the second Sunday of each month in the Chapel at 10 a.m. We’re currently studying about how to make choices to shine Jesus light into the world.

Sunday Evenings

We seek to build a desire for God and His word in our children throughout the school year as they participate in Bible Drill from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Bible Drill teaches 1st-6th graders how to use their Bible, find books of the Bible and memorize scripture. From 6:30-7:00 p.m. we move to the Family Life Center where we play games with purpose.

Discipleship continues on Sunday nights during the summer through TeamKID. TeamKID is a recreation based Bible study for children who have completed kindergarten-6th grade in the Family Life Center from 5:30-7:00 p.m. TeamKID incorporates missions, scripture memorization and continued work on Bible Drill elements in addition to Bible study and recreation.

Wednesday Evenings

During the school year we offer age graded choirs for kindergarten-6th graders at 5:30 p.m. The kindergarten choir meets in Room 252 while the 1st-3rd and 4th-6th grade choirs meet on the 3rd floor. Our children’s choirs will present their spring musical, The Kingdom Connection, on Sunday, May 22 at 6 p.m. Members of our children’s choirs join with children from the community for a musical in December as well.

Children have the opportunity to serve and learn about how to minister to others in our community and around the world in Mission Friends, GAs and RAs at 6:30 p.m. throughout the school year. Kindergartners participate in Mission Friends in Room 249 while 1st-6th grade girls go to GAs and boys go to RAs on the 3rd floor.

In the summer we offer TeamKID from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. This recreation based Bible study also incorporates missions, scripture memorization and Bible Drill elements.

Vacation Bible School

Children who have completed kindergarten-6th grade join us for Submerged June 13-17 from 8:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. We’ll go on an adventure deep within the mysterious sea. Kids will dig into God’s word and see that Jesus looked deep down on the inside of people. We’ll dive below the surface of some familiar Bible stories during our Bible study time. We’ll also have fun and exciting times through worship rally, music, crafts, missions and recreation.

Terrific Tuesday Trips

We take trips to various different places on Tuesdays during the summer. Sign up for these below. These trips are open to children in 1st-6th grade. For anyone to go on a trip with us, they must have a notarized medical release form on file with us. These must be renewed each year. We also take trips on school breaks. You download a copy here.
