We are Cookeville Kids. We are Cookeville Kids because we are called to reach Cookeville Kids with the Gospel. We want to see children desire God, be discipled, and dedicate themselves to service in God’s Kingdom. Our desire for our Children’s Ministry (K-6th grades) is that all children encounter Jesus Christ, are encouraged in their spiritual growth, equipped for lifelong service, and engage in the church and the community. We do this by partnering with and equipping families to share Jesus with their children at home (Deut. 6:6-9). We love seeing children coming to know Jesus and the love that God has for them. We have activities throughout the week and year to help your child grow in their knowledge of Jesus Christ.
On Sunday mornings during the 8:45 hour we have Sunday School classes for each grade. You will find the Kindergarten class on the 2nd floor and 1st-6th grade rooms on the 3rd floor. This is a great time for children to make friends and learn about Jesus as they are taught by adults whose desire is to love, nurture, and train children for the Kingdom of God.
Children’s Church is available for Kindergartners each Sunday during the 10:00a worship service. This worship time is designed just for them and meets in Room 249.
Cookeville Kids Worship, worship time designed for 1st-6th grades, is typically the 2nd Sunday of each month on the 4th floor. But due to the Putnam County Schools fall break, the next Cookeville Kids Worship is October 18. We are continuing our study on what it means to be a disciple and the spiritual disciplines (reading Bible, prayer, giving, community) a disciple should have in his/her life during Cookeville Kids Worship.
We have Bible Drill I in Room 329, Bible Drill II in Room 323 and a children’s discipleship class for 1st-6th graders in Room 327 from 5:30-6:30p. Children learn books of the Bible, memorize scripture and learn key passages at varying levels during Bible Drill I and Bible Drill II. During the class we’ll study 13 Very Bad Days & How God Fixed Them with stories from the Old and New Testament. From 6:30-7:00p we move to the Family Life Center where we’ll play games with purpose.
We offer two different children’s choirs each Wednesday on the 3rd floor at 5:30p. It is a joy to see children signing about God and their savior, Jesus Christ. At 6:30p, children go to RAs (boys) and GAs (girls) where they learn about missions and the Bible. RAs and GAs are both located on the 3rd floor.
We take trips on school breaks and throughout the summer. For anyone to go on a trip with us, they must have a notarized medical release form on file with us. These must be renewed each year. You download a copy here.
