Children

The purpose of Cookeville Kids is to see children desire God, be discipled, and grow to dedicate themselves to service in God’s kingdom. We do this by partnering with and equipping families to share Jesus with their children at home (Deut. 6:6-9). We love seeing children coming to know Jesus and the love that God has for them.

Sunday Morning

Part of our discipleship happens on Sunday mornings during the 8:45 hour as we have Sunday School classes for Kindergarten-6th grade. These classes are taught by caring and loving adults who help children learn and explore the Bible. You will find the kindergarten class on the second floor and 1st-6th grade rooms on the third floor.

Cookeville Kids Worship, a service designed specifically for 1st-6th graders, meets the second Sunday of each month in the Chapel at 10 a.m.

Sunday Evening

We seek to build a desire for God and His word in our children as they participate in Bible Drill from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Bible Drill teaches 1st-6th graders how to use their Bible, find books of the Bible and memorize scripture. From 6:30-7:00 p.m. we move to the Family Life Center where we have a devotion and games centered around that devotion.

Wednesday

On Wednesdays we open the gym to children to come skate, play basketball or just hang out from 3:30-5:00 pm. Dinner is available from 5:00-6:30 in the Fellowship Hall for $5.

We offer age graded choirs for kindergarten-6th graders at 5:30 p.m. The kindergarten choir meets in Room 252 while the 1st-3rd and 4th-6th grade choirs meet on the 3rd floor. Our children’s choirs present a spring musical. Members of our children’s choirs join with children from the community for a musical in December as well.

Children have the opportunity to serve and learn about how to minister to others in our community and around the world in Mission Friends, GAs and RAs at 6:30 p.m. Kindergartners participate in Mission Friends in Room 249 while 1st-6th grade girls go to GAs and boys go to RAs on the 3rd floor.

Trips

We take trips on school breaks as well as to various different places on Tuesdays during the summer. For anyone to go on a trip with us, they must have a notarized medical release form on file with us. These must be renewed each year.
