First Baptist Church’s Upward Basketball and Cheerleading league and Upward Basketball Camp focus on developing the total athlete mentally, athletically, socially and spiritually through the 360 Progression. Our league helps children discover a love for the game, and with a healthy competitive spirit, develop the skills they need to succeed in everything they do. Our coaches will lead players to grow athletically through game discovery (for our younger ages and players who haven’t played before), skill development in all age groups and peak performance while also sharing the teachings of Christ to develop positive sportsmanship and character.
Registration has begun for the 2015-2016 Upward Basketball and Cheerleading season!! Our season begins with evaluations in November. These evaluations are designed to help even out teams and give every player a positive sports experience. Practices will start the first week of December with games in January, February and the first week of March. You can register in the First Baptist Church Office Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. or click here to register online.
Interested in Serving?
Another aspect of Upward Basketball & Cheerleading is the opportunity to serve through sports. There are many ways to be involved in this ministry from a coach or referee to prayer partners and halftime devotions to the concession stand. Check out the video below to see more about serving through this ministry. If you would like to become involved or have further questions, please email our Recreation Coordinator Colleen Cox at firstname.lastname@example.org.
