First Baptist Church’s Upward Basketball and Cheerleading league and Upward Basketball Camp focus on developing the total athlete mentally, athletically, socially and spiritually through the 360 Progression. Our league helps children discover a love for the game, and with a healthy competitive spirit, develop the skills they need to succeed in everything they do. Our coaches will lead players to grow athletically through game discovery (for our younger ages and players who haven’t played before), skill development in all age groups and peak performance while also sharing the teachings of Christ to develop positive sportsmanship and character.
Upward Basketball and Cheerleading practices have started and games will be played in January, February and the first week of March. See a schedule for the whole season here. This week’s game schedule can be found here.
As part of the 360 Progression, our Upward Basketball & Cheerleading league has a give back built into our program where each team will fill a Rice Bowl during the season. The money collected from these Rice Bowls will go to fee orphaned children around the world. Use your spare change to fill a bowl and change a life!
Interested in Serving?
Another aspect of Upward Basketball & Cheerleading is the opportunity to serve through sports. There are many ways to be involved in this ministry from a referee or scorekeeper to halftime devotions to the concession stand. Check out the video below to see more about serving through this ministry. If you would like to become involved or have further questions, please email our Recreation Coordinator Colleen Cox at firstname.lastname@example.org.
