Our desire is for you to have a great experience worshiping the Lord at Cookeville First Baptist and part of that is answering any questions you may have before you arrive. You will find information from the parking lot to the worship center. Also take time to fill out the form at the end to let us know you are coming and we can make plans to meet you on Sunday.
We are located in downtown Cookeville across the street from Cookeville Performing Arts Center and next to City Hall. We are 0.5 miles south of Tennessee Tech at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Spring Street (US 70).
When you arrive at FBC, you will find a couple different parking lots on all sides of the church.
If this is your first time at FBC, we invite you to park in our visitor parking located next to the nursery and Sanctuary entrance. This is marked in yellow in the parking map.
Handicap parking can be found in the parking lot next to church building. Both visitor and handicap parking is easily accessible off of Spring Street (US 70).
There are 4 general parking lots around the church that you can find parking in as well. Parking Lot A is located behind the Regions Bank Building close to an entrance by the Sanctuary. Parking Lot B is located behind City Hall and can be accessed from Spring Street. Parking Lot C is on the southside of the Family Life Center. Parking Lot D is located across Spring Street.
Childcare is provided for babies-Kindergarten during all services. You will find the nursery/preschool area on the 2nd floor at the covered entrance by visitor parking. Before your child can be put into childcare, they will need to be checked in using our electronic registration system. One of our great Cookeville Kids volunteers will help you with everything.
1st-6th graders have small groups at 8:45 am on Sundays on the 3rd floor and join us for worship at 10:00 am. You will need to pick them up from small groups prior to worship.
7th-12th graders have small groups on the 4th floor at 8:45 and will join you for worship.
On Sundays we have two worship services at 10:00 am, one in the Sanctuary and the other in the Family Life Center. In the Sanctuary, worship is led by choir, orchestra, and band. In the Family Life Center, worship is led by a band. The same message is heard in both locations from Pastor Scott.
The worship service is about 75 minutes. We encourage you to wear whatever you are comfortable in. We are a diverse congregation so you will find everything from suits to jeans. Our desire is for your heart to be transformed by the truth of the Gospel.
We think that small groups are an important part of our spiritual growth so we encourage everyone to join a small group. Our small groups meet at 8:45 am across the church, except for the college small groups which meet after worship during the Fall and Spring semesters.
In small group, you will study the Bible with other people in a similar life stage. There will be a time of discussion and learning as you mine the Scriptures for truth and apply that truth to your life. Check out our awesome small groups here and make plans to visit one this Sunday. Our greeters can also recommend one to you on Sunday.
